I have the Buck 119 Special survival knife on my best fixed blade knives list because this thing is durable, tested, made in the USA and a pleasure to hold. All of this combined allows for one tough blade.

Even without cutting edge technology, it holds its own against modern knives in sheer ruggedness, durability and performance. I have spent a lot of time using a Buck 119 and it is a work horse of a knife.I think the Brahma just feels heftier because of the beefy handle and the substantial finger guard and pommel.
