Paul Kent has revealed that Kevin Proctor and Shaun Johnson will be hit with sanctions by the NRL after they broke judiciary rules in the lead-up to the Titans skipper’s hearing. Proctor’s interview with The Courier Mail and Johnson’s Instagram post in defence of his Kiwis’ teammate both violated judiciary rules.“It was a dumb move and he shouldn’t have said anything,” Kent said on NRL 360.“He’s going to be fined tomorrow Shaun Johnson for what he has posted on Instagram.“It is a rule of the NRL that you are not allowed to comment on the judicial process until after the hearing.“As a key witness in this case he has commented on Instagram and the NRL will fine him tomorrow.“Kevin Proctor is likely also facing a fine as well for his newspaper story that claimed he will fight to the death to prove he is not a biter.“So both players tonight regardless of the result will likely be a little lighter in the pocket.”However Johnson’s testimony might not count for much according to Brent Read, who believes the Sharks playmaker’s defence directly contradicts Proctor’s defence.“I’m not sure how much it will help Kevin Proctor because Johnson said in an interview, “what happens on the field stays on the field”, so if I’m the prosecution I would ask Shaun Johnson do you believe that still?“Johnson will say yes so straight away what credibility is there to any evidence that he gives?”A NOTE ABOUT RELEVANT ADVERTISING: We collect information about the content (including ads) you use across this site and use it to make both advertising and content more relevant to you on our network and other sites. 3:57. 2:50.
