Between 12 April and 8 May 2009, Joseph Camilleri led a Centre for dialogue delegation to  the Middle East. The other two members were Research Fellows, Dr Michális S. Michael and Dr Luca Anceschi.

Dialogue
12 August 2009 to 16 August 2009

The Malaysia-Australia Dialogue on Asian Futures was held in Penang on 12-16 August 2009. Attending scholars scrutinised the economic, social, environmental and security challenges for the Asia Pacific. This initiative was seen as contributing positively to the future development of the region.

Advocacy
15 January 1988 to 15 April 1996

Joseph Camilleri was the founding Convener of Rainbow Alliance, a new political movement bringing together people active in peace, environmental, gender, social justice and union issues. Its aim was to encourage cross fertilisation between these streams of activism and to make the connections between issues often viewed in isolation from each other. 

Conference
6 December 2007 to 7 December 2007

The Conference, convened by Joseph Camilleri, was a sequel to a number of other workshops and symposia that have been organised in collaboration with other institutions in Europe and Asia. They formed part of a larger research programme Europe and Asia between Islam and the United States: The Politics of Transition.

This Conference focused on the interaction of three key dualities:

The Leadership Training Program for Young Muslims was one of the major programs of the La Trobe Centre for Dialogue. It was conceived by Joseph Camilleri, the Centre's Director, and established following representations to the Victorian Government and the strong support offered by the then Premrier of Victoria, the Hon Steve Bracks.

The book was launched by Prof Desmond Ball (Australian National University) on 23 October 2003. The book launch was hosted by Asialink and Reader's Feast Bookstore.

Worlds in Transition by Joseph A. Camilleri and Jim Falk was launched on 13 April 2010 by The Hon Michael Kirby, former Justice off the High Court of Australia, Professor Stuart Macintyre (University of Melbourne) and Professor Dennis Altman (La Trobe University).
