What I can say is that acting was flawless, editing fantastic, cinematography exquisite, film score quirky (as it should be) and plot slow, methodical and very thoughtful, and frankly, empathetic. A nice character study. After a tragic accident, losing his family and his legs, he ends his own life. The film should be judged on its cinematic merits and not whether one likes Scientology or liked L. Ron Hubbard. Philip Seymour Hoffman is intense and much less full of himself than one might expect given he's supposed to be portraying L. Ron Hubbard.
