In the midst of deep anxiety about our common future we must somehow tread a path between diverse, competing and at times sharply conflicting faiths, cultures, ethnicities, interests and ideologies. How are we to do this? To this question there is no simple or single answer. For many the answer still lies in confrontation and even violence. But for others dialogue offers a more promising pathway.
