Earthwatch Institute
Earthwatch Institute engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment.
Earthwatch has several offices, located in the US, UK, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, and Brazil. It works with the general public, scientists, communities, educators, students, and corporate fellows. Earthwatch projects take place in more than forty countries.
Earthwatch engages in scientific field research resulting in peer reviewed publications. It supports educational activities that promote environmentally sustainable action.
Earthwatch also works with businesses and community organizations to enable them to implement sustainable policies, processes, and practices that promote environmental responsibility both in and out of the office.
Earthwatch's approach to research and citizen science:
We believe that decisions regarding the environment and communities should be based on objective science, and that by connecting people with hands-on science opportunities we can empower a worldwide movement of environmental leaders.
