The Institute of International Finance (IIF)

The Institute of International Finance is the global association of the financial industry. Members include commercial and investment banks, asset managers, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, central banks, and development banks. Membership currently stands at close to 500 financial institutions from 70 countries.

The IIF describes its mission as follows:

"Our mission is to support the financial industry in prudently managing risks; to develop sound industry practices; and to advocate for regulatory, financial, and economic policies that are in the broad interest of our members and that foster global financial stability and sustainable economic growth.

That distinctive role is based on the professional excellence and independence of our research, the breadth of our membership, and our extensive relationships with policymakers and regulators."
