Islamic Shi'a Council of Victoria is established

The newly formed Islamic Shia Council of Victoria (ISCV) was introduced to the Victorian community on Friday 24 February 2017 at a dinner hosted by the ISCV. 

It was attended by the Hon Robin Scott (Minister for Multicultural Affairs), Helen Kapalos (Chair of the Victorian Multicultural Commission), several members of parliament and many religious and community leaders.

ISCV is an umbrella organisation representing over 60 Shia organisations in the state of Victoria. Its aim is to represent the views and interests of the Shia community of Victoria, while developing friendships and working with the wider Islamic community, other faiths, ethnic and community organisations and all levels of government.

Joseph Camilleri was engaged by the ISCV to assist in preparations for its formation, in particular to advise on the orgnaisation's vision, misson, structure and program. He was presented with an award in acknoweldgement of the consultancy and his mentorship.
