Office of the United States Trade Representative
The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is an agency of the United States Government created in 1962. It employs some 200 professionalswith dexpertise in trade issues and regions of the world.
USTR negotiates trade agreements with foreign governments, handles trade disputes, and represents US Adminsitrations in global trade policy organizations. It is in regular ocntact with governments, with business groups, with legislators and with public interest groups in purusing the US trade agenda. It has offices in Washington, Geneva, and Brussels.
