The 2013 Melbourne Australia-Indonesia dialogue brought together from Australia and Indonesia leading scholars, policy makers and business figures, to assess, in a frank and robust way, the current status of the relationship between the two neighbours. Particular attention centred on the contribution which the two countries as middle powers could make to the common task of enhancing cooperation across a range of regional challenges.
The 2013 Australia Indonesia Dialogue, with its theme “Prospects for regional cooperation: Opportunities for Indonesian-Australian collaboration” expanded on the first 2012 ‘interfaith’ focused dialogue into other areas of human, societal, environmental security and education, economic and institutional links with a regional focus.
