Economic and Political Weekly

The Economic and Political Weekly, or EPW as the journal is popularly known, is published from Mumbai.  It is an Indian institution with an international reputation.

For more than five decades EPW has remained a unique forum that brings together academics, researchers, policy makers, independent thinkers, members of non-governmental organisations and political activists for debates straddling economics, politics, sociology, culture, the environment and numerous other disciplines.

The Centre for Dialogue was established by La Trobe University in September 2005 and inaugurated on 15 August 2006, at the National Gallery of Victoria, with the strong support of the Victorian Government. At the opening, attended by more than 700 people, Judge Christopher Weeramantry, former Vice-President of the International Court of Justice, delivered the inaugural Annual Lecture.
