Audra Mitchell holds the CIGI Chair in Global Governance and Ethics at the Balsillie School of International Affairs at the Wilfrid Laurier University, in Waterloo, Canada. Having worked in the fields of violence studies, conflict and international intervention, she is now devoted to studying global patterns of extinction. Her work is based on the conviction that ecological collapse is driven by violent logics, structures, discourses and practices, which need to be resisted and actively dismantled. Audra is currently working with an international collective of Indigenous communities, researchers and Indigenous knowledges to understand global patterns of violence and harm, and to imagine alternatives.
