Stephen Ames is a priest of forty-four years standing in the Anglican Church and presently based at St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne. With Neil Thomason and Keith Hutchison he co-designed the original ‘God and the Natural Sciences’ subject in 2001. Since then has been much involved in co-lecturing and updating the subject, which continues with Kristian Camilleri. Stephen has a PhD in Physics and a PhD in Philosophy of Science. His interests are in the intersection between physics and metaphysics, especially in scientific naturalism and its critics as well as the various reasoned alternatives, for example Platonism and Theism.
